Matrix Solutions was proud to be the water sponsor for the 2015 Calgary Folk Music Festival. The on-site water stations encouraged festival goers to refill their own reusable water bottles, which helps to eliminate the sale of disposable water bottles.
Over the past 36 years, the Calgary Folk Music festival has become one of the greenest events in North America. Recognized locally and internationally for its’ Eco-Initiatives Program, the Festival has set the bar for waste diversion at public events in Calgary; through composting, plate recycling and the Matrix sponsored water stations. These refill water stations offer the festival’s 13,000 daily patrons the opportunity to stay hydrated over the weekend, free of charge. In 2014, approximately 41,757 litres were consumed by festival-goers- equating to 83,514 disposable water bottles that were not purchased, and subsequently disposed of- at the Festival.
Providing sustainable environmental solutions that refresh our communities, this sponsorship matched Matrix’s work with a great community festival.
