Introducing Matrix Solutions’ Educational Award for Indigenous Students in Memory of Tyler Swaren

For the past 15 years, Matrix Solutions Environment & Engineering has offered scholarships to honour the legacy left by Tyler Swaren, a Matrix employee who passed away tragically in 2006. This year we have partnered with Lakeland College (Vermilion, AB) and Northern Lights College (Dawson Creek, BC), to administer the scholarship and award one Indigenous student entering an environmental program at each school with a $2,500 scholarship.

Evolving the scholarship program aligns with Matrix’s goal to build meaningful partnerships with Indigenous peoples in the communities where we live and work. In addition, it provides an opportunity to promote greater diversity in the environmental industry.

The scholarship application and selection process for the 2021/2022 school year will open soon. Watch for details on the Awards, Bursaries & Scholarships Listings for each partner college. The final selection of each award will be made late 2021/early 2022. Our people are looking forward to meeting with the successful applicants to provide insight on a career in environmental consulting and share more about a future at Matrix.
