The Matrix Approach to Rapid Closure for Inactive Sites

The introduction of $1.7B in federal government funding for clean-up of inactive well sites and the Alberta Site Rehabilitation Program, provides a unique opportunity to reduce environmental liabilities in Western Canada. We have been partnering with our clients to help them plan work that is eligible for the site rehabilitation program and that will maximize environmental, social and economic benefits. Drawing on the experience of more than 30 years and work on more than 10,000 inactive oil and gas sites, Matrix looks at site closure differently. We take a holistic approach to helping our clients reduce liability efficiently and cost-effectively.

To help explain what sets us apart when it comes to site rehabilitation, we’ve put together an interactive summary that showcases our solution to simplify the site closure process, including the Matrix Approach to Rapid Closure (MARC).

Learn more about the Matrix Approach to Rapid Closure for Inactive Sites.

MARC is our innovative approach introducing standardization and automation for managing large portfolios of inactive oil and gas wells. As a portfolio management tool, MARC introduces a set of business processes and roles and responsibilities designed to achieve rapid regulatory closure of a portfolio of sites. Some of the valuable benefits of MARC include:

  • Consistent Data Management
  • Automated and Data-Driven Reporting
  • Improved Portfolio and Project Management
  • Collaboration and Information Sharing
