Our History
Matrix has evolved over many years through a series of corporate mergers. Our roots go back to the 1970s when Jim Lore founded a consulting company providing land assessment and reclamation consulting services to the agricultural and energy sectors. J. Lore and Associates was renamed 3D Reclamation in 1996 and in 1998 merged with Groundwater Solutions. Groundwater Solutions had been created five years earlier to assist industry and government clients in groundwater contamination and hydrogeology. The new company was called Matrix Solutions Inc.
Matrix continued to grow in size and scope. In 2002, E2 Environmental Alliance joined the team, adding expertise in environmental impact assessment and management, and experience in international projects. Hydroconsult EN3 joined the team in 2005, further enhancing the Matrix capacity with expertise in river engineering and other surface water disciplines. Today, Matrix is a progressive environmental and engineering consulting company with more than 175 employees located in six offices and serving a wide range of clients throughout western Canada and worldwide.
